Digital Portfolios

We have a teacher at Oxford Area School, Mary Chisnall, who is doing some action research on digital portofolios.  We have met and I took her through myportfolio, a free portfolio system run using Mahara.  This is quite a nifty tool that allows you or your students to create an online portfolio.  This is something I have always wanted to develop for my students and is worth learning to use. Let me know if you would like to investigate.

The other tool Mary will look at using is blogging.  Blogging is a powerful tool that can be used in many different ways.  I have seen a number of Primary School class blogs that have just blown me away.  Here is one example.  Youger students especially, enjoy sharing their learning and knowledge with the big wide world.  A great way to engage learners in writing!
