Sharing best practice: just putting it all out there

I recently conducted a review of a module in one of my own courses.  It is a course that I have found frustrating at times and is one of the first times I have really had to cajole students to participate.  Anyway I think this is a fantastic way to share practice of online teaching.  While there is some summary text the heart of the sharing is through screencasting which is really quite easy.  It would be great to get some of our eteachers doing this at the end of the year and something I will suggest (although it would be voluntary of course).  Not only is it good for others to learn from, it is very good reflection for improving your own practice.  Many teachers would probably be worried about making something so public, but we tend to be our own worst critics.

This sort of thing needs to happen.  The eTeachers across the VLN are far too isloated, which is rather ironic considering the medium they work in.

Anyway click on the imaged below to view my reflection.
